Minsthorpe Community College

Teaching Staff Vacancies

Minsthorpe Community College is a single academy trust that values the teachers who deliver an excellent education for our students. Our mantra of motivation, commitment and care is founded on the community values we continue to uphold.

Why Minsthorpe Community College is a great place to teach:

  • We have a fantastic behaviour policy, adhered to by all, which allows quality teaching and learning to take place.
  • Teachers are given the time to plan and prepare great lessons due to additional PPA for all teachers and the removal of unnecessary meetings.
  • Curriculum plans based on evidence-based pedagogy are in place, but teachers are given the freedom to adapt these to meet the needs of their classes and their own teaching style.
  • There is dedicated time to get to know the learning needs of every student and teachers genuinely care about them as individuals.
  • Staff across the College are welcoming, friendly and supportive of new colleagues.
  • The vast majority of our teachers have worked within the college for a number of years. When teachers join Minsthorpe, they are invested in, progress in their careers and stay to be a part of our learning community.

What our staff say ….

The school has a fantastic behaviour policy that is understood and followed by all and allows teachers to teach.  Fellow staff are extremely friendly, approachable, and supportive.  All staff really care about the pupils and the students know and appreciate this care and commitment.  Teacher & TLR Holder

3 lessons per day leads to a more productive day, less disruption to learning and less of the school day wasted.  Approachable head teachers and leadership who you can speak to, making you feel a valued member of staff.  Behaviour in the school is good. This is supported by a fantastic behaviour policy, putting learning first. You are supported with your decisions and are left to do what you do best, teach!  Teacher

Staff wellbeing is clearly a high priority for members of SLT as there are no unnecessary meetings etc.  Staff are backed in terms of the behaviour policy so quality teaching is the priority in every class.  At this school you get recognised for the hard work that goes into every day and when you go above and beyond. Members of the leadership team and lead practitioners make a special effort to thank and encourage staff at every opportunity.  Teacher & TLR Holder

The culture is genuinely so welcoming and supportive.  Everything holds the students at heart; an ethos I truly value, support and adhere to.  Clear lines of progression are available but without pressure. A balance I believe is rare elsewhere.  Teacher

Great work life balance and I really feel like that is valued by my seniors to ensure this is maintained.  Lots of opportunities for development in many different areas.  Decisions are backed by SLT in terms of behaviour management, meaning we can put learning first.  Early Careers Teacher

We are situated in a very accessible location. We have three major transportation links within minutes of our college. We are approximately 3 miles away from the A1, 9 miles from the M62 and 12 miles from the M18. We also have South Elmsall train station 15 minutes away.  This makes the college a prime location for many of the surrounding towns and cities, including Doncaster.
