Minsthorpe Community College celebrates Post-16 success
Minsthorpe Community College is delighted to celebrate the achievements of its Post-16 students, whose hard work, determination and commitment have once again produced a strong set of results across a broad range of academic and vocational courses.
The College is particularly pleased with the number of students who have made great progress throughout their Post-16 journey. There have been excellent outcomes across a wide range of Level 3 vocational courses, providing students with a strong platform from which to progress into higher education, employment and apprenticeships.
Behind the results are many individual stories of determination and achievement, with students overcoming challenges and making significant progress throughout their Post-16 studies, who should be rightly proud of everything they have accomplished.
The results will enable an impressive 96% of students to progress to their first-choice university, with 78% of these students being the first generation in their immediate family to progress to higher education. Others have secured employment and apprenticeships with a range of local and national employers such as Northern Power.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students and the results they have achieved today. These results are a reflection of the determination, resilience and commitment they have shown throughout their time at Minsthorpe.
Our students have truly lived our values of Motivation, Commitment and Care. They have worked hard, supported one another and continued to believe in what they can achieve. Today is their opportunity to celebrate that success.
We would also like to pay tribute to our wonderful staff. Their dedication to our young people, both inside and outside the classroom, makes such a difference, and these results are a testament to the collective effort of everyone at Minsthorpe. We would also like to thank our parents and carers for the support and encouragement they have provided throughout the students’ education.
Once again, this is ‘Team Minsthorpe’ at its very best.
What makes today particularly exciting is seeing the sheer variety of opportunities that our students are now moving on to. Some will be heading to universities including Manchester, York, Sheffield, Leeds and Production Park in South Kirkby. Others will be pursuing careers or taking up apprenticeships.
We could not be more proud of them. We wish every one of our Year 13 students the very best for the future and hope they continue to have the confidence, ambition and determination to achieve everything they are capable of. Today is the start of an exciting new chapter in their lives.
