"This book was simply beautiful. The wordplay, creativity, everything. The idea of mirrors being misfortune, the belief of the mirror's shattering being 7 years of bad luck. How two teenagers, alone, put in their all, for vengeance of the town. I wish it were longer, but nonetheless, I enjoyed it deeply. "

This week we have launched the ‘Cracking’ Easter Egg Competition in the Library, all you have to do is loan a book from the Library this week and next in your English class, read the book and return it, on time in your following lesson. You will then be able to select and open an egg from our egg box, which contain prizes, including books, stationary, Easter eggs and chocolate! It really is that simple!!

Minsthorpe Miles
Y7 Students are invited to take part in the reading challenge ‘Minsthorpe Miles’. To begin your race, choose a quizzable book to read. Once complete, have a go at the 10 question, multiple choice quiz. Score 7 or more and you are in the race. The more reading and quizzes you complete, the more certificates and prizes you will receive.
There has been a great deal of engagement in Spring term 1 with many students eager to help their P&A win the ‘Easter Bunny’ Minsthorpe Miles Race.

Sparks
Sparx Reader is weekly reading for home learning, due every Tuesday night and set every Wednesday morning. Students need to aim to read for approximately 30 minutes per week, to achieve a minimum of 300 points.
