Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium
The Government believes that Pupil Premium is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between the groups of students below and their peers by ensuring that funding reaches those students who need it most.
Students eligible for Pupil Premium funding:
- have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any time in the last six years
- have been in care for more than six months
- have parents/carers in the armed services, who face particular challenges

In the light of the pandemic, the government has provided schools with additional funding to support students.
The College is using this funding to provide additional staffing in order that targeted support can be put in place for students to enable them to recover lost learning missed due to the pandemic. This support will involve the use of small group and 1 to 1 tuition as part of the national tutoring programme and academic mentoring.
In addition, we recognise that children and families need additional social and emotional support in returning to school and aspects of this funding will strengthen our resources for supporting this.
Our Pupil Premium Strategy Statement – October 2021 includes details of our plans for the use of the Pupil Premium and the Recovery Premium.
